About Dr Tim Greenwell

Eye surgeon & specialist

I am a South Australian ophthalmologist with expertise in cataract surgery, uveitis, general ophthalmology, macular degeneration, diabetes, and retinal conditions. I am committed to providing high quality, patient-focused care.

Specialised training in Adelaide & Oxford

Graduating from the University of Adelaide in 2008 with a Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery, I completed my specialist training in South Australia and was granted fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists in 2018. After successfully finishing my first four years of training, I undertook a 15-month subspecialty fellowship in uveitis and medical ophthalmology at the Oxford University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Oxford, UK.

Teaching & charity work

Outside of routine ophthalmology practice, I work with the Adelaide-based charity Sight For All, with projects focused on training eye doctors and decreasing the burden of eye disease amongst Indigenous Australians and in the developing world.

I have published several research papers and am keenly interested in education for doctors in training and other healthcare professionals. I currently serve as the Director of Training for trainee ophthalmologists in South Australia.
